Ice Machine Commissioning in Birdhaven
Ice Machine Commissioning in Birdhaven, Johannesburg. Documented commissioning with measured output and cube weight.
Commissioning proves the installation: water pressure, ambient, freeze and harvest times, cube weight, output per 24 hours and electrical readings all recorded, so later performance complaints can be measured against a real baseline.
The ice plant here is mostly estate clubhouses, guest houses, small restaurants and private bars, so the work is weighted towards undercounter and small modular machines. Call-outs are run from the central Johannesburg base, which keeps attendance windows short for kitchens in the northern and central suburbs.
Filtration sized on measured hardness and throughput is the cheapest protection available for an ice machine's water circuit and pump. Highveld summer ambient is the other half of the picture: an air-cooled machine boxed into joinery loses output on hot afternoons even when the refrigeration circuit is perfect.

How long does ice machine commissioning take?
Two to three hours after installation.
Which machines do you work on in Birdhaven?
Everything from self-contained undercounter machines to modular heads on bins and production plant, including modular ice machines & bins, water-cooled ice machines, remote condenser ice machines. The ice plant here is mostly estate clubhouses, guest houses, small restaurants and private bars, so the work is weighted towards undercounter and small modular machines.
Which brands are covered?
We service all common commercial makes, including Maja, Ziegra, Follett, Wessamat, and can source the usual wear parts — inlet valves, float valves, pumps, spray bars, thermostats and fan motors.
What is included in the price?
The visit covers water pressure and temperature readings, ambient and condenser air checks, freeze and harvest cycle timing and a written record of findings. Parts are quoted before fitting unless you have authorised a repair limit.
A related problem is "Ice Machine Freezing Up" — is that covered?
Ice builds on the suction line, plate or in the bin, jamming the machine. That is diagnosed on the same visit, and the fault page for Birdhaven sets out the usual causes and how we test for them.
